The Kitchener Rangers miss their captain but it has created an opportunity for two overage players on Kitchener’s blueline.
Jonathan Jasper and Cody Sol even broke into song when they were paired up for last Thursday’s shootout win in Windsor.
They sang a few bars of “Reunited” by Peaches and Herb.
Jasper says it was difficult being out of the line-up.
“It kind of gets to you.” said Jasper.
Jasper and Sol were a defensive pairing last season too, in Kitchener’s last four games they are a combined plus-2.
They also each picked up an assist in last Thursday’s win over the Spitfires.
The Kitchener Rangers open the weekend at home to the Erie Otters tonight.
570 News has the pre-game show at 7pm.
Rangers Captain Michael Catenacci remains out with a concussion.
