Homer Watson Blvd Speed Trap

If you’re driving along Homer Watson, you’ll want to make sure you’re going the speed limit.
Waterloo Regional Police have a speed trap set up just before the roundabout at Block Line.
Yesterday, they clocked one car going 110 kilometres per hour.
Alana Holtom with regional police says with the speed limit being 70, that’s unacceptable, “naturally in this roundabout, in particular, as with most intersections, speed is always a factor, so if we can have people entering and exiting the roundabout at a responsible speed, that is something we’re look to enforce by our presence there.”
And the speed leading up to the Homer Watson and Block Line roundabout will also be up for discussion at regional council tonight.
One of a few recommendations made by staff is to lower the speed limit along a stretch of Homer Watson, down to 50 kilometres per hour.
