The Christmas Creep

If you’ve been out shopping lately, you may have had to second guess the date.

Christmas decorations have already started making their way into stores and it’s not even Halloween.

A continuing trend we’re seeing is retailers getting a jump start to the Christmas season. It has been dubed the Christmas Creep.

Some residents 570 News spoke with say they’d prefer it if retailers kept Halloween and Christmas seperate,”the first of October they’re starting, for me that’s all too early. I get sick of all that…I’m a scrooge.” “It’s kinda like when you see Halloween and Christmas…the two concepts…they don’t gel.” “I just like to get one holiday over, then go onto the next.”

The first week of November is when Canadian Tire officials want their stores to have Christmas displays up, that being said, some stores already have the trees trimmed.

Today marks two months until Christmas Day.
