Auction to support Children’s Literacy

The third year of the Waterloo Public Library’s fundraiser for children’s literacy starts tomorrow for one week.
It features autographed sports items in line with the theme of “Reading is Child’s Play”.
Featuring signed sticks from the Waterloo Siskins, Kitchener Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs, an autographed book from Andre Agassi and many more.
WPL spokesperson Sandi Hall tells 570 News the funds are used to support free programs enjoyed by children; from newborns to teens alike, “having a fund-raiser like this, 100% of the proceeds go back into the library so that we can continue to have great guests come in and do programs here and keep everything free, so that it’s free for all.”
The items also come with the title of a favourite children’s book of the athlete or team.
