Things are going to begin getting back to normal for students at Ontario’s community colleges, including Conestoga College.
8-thousand support workers will be back on the job tomorrow after OPSEU and the schools came to a tentative agreement late last night. The workers had been off the job since September 1st.
Some picketers could still be found outside Conestoga College this morning, but they weren’t stopping vehicles today. Instead, they held signs thanking people for their support and to let people know they’d be back to work tomorrow.
OPSEU Local 238 President Sherry Johnston says students will finally get the service they deserve.
The next step is a ratification vote, but there is still no word on exactly when that will take place. Officials expect it to be in the next week or two.
Johnston says union members have been advised to accept the offer.
