Waterloo Park goes medieval

Waterloo Park takes a step back in time today – many steps in fact.
The 14th Royal Medieval Faire is taking place there from 11 a.m until 6 p.m.
The setting for the Region’s only medieval festival is the kingdom of Mearth and features sword fights, jesters, dancers, actors, and musicians in traditional costumes, not to mention games.
One of the Faire’s artistic directors, Ginevra Brown tells 570 News the event is high on fantasy and there is a story line that plays out throughout the day, culminating in a tournament in the centre ring.
The festival goes rain or shine and admission is is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 10.
It’s taking place in Waterloo Park West which is off Westmount Road.
