Hudak stops in Kitchener

The Leader of Ontario’s Progressive Conservative Party, Tim Hudak made a campaign stop in Kitchener today. He also appeared live on 570’s Jeff Allan Show.
Taking calls from listeners, Hudak highlighted the three key points of his party’s platform, firstly, “put more money back in your pockets. Taking the HST off hydro, off of your home heating bill and the debt retirement charge as well. Bringing in an income tax reduction targeted particularly at middle-class families are really being squeezed.”
Hudak adds, point two is to focus government on health and education and find two-cents on every dollar in other spending areas. Point three is to end what Hudak calls the Liberal party’s “affirmative-action schemes.”
Hudak also points to a wish to cut regulatory “red-tape” to “get out of the way of businesses, so they can help create jobs.”
Regarding energy, Hudak promises to end the Liberal governments “Feed-in Tariff” program. “We can’t continue to spend $0.80 per kilowatt hour for power when you can buy it for $0.05 or $0.06 on the marketplace. Somebody has got to pay that difference, that subsidy,” Hudak says.
Following his visit to the 570 News studios, Hudak stopped for a photo-op on Wilson Avenue in Kitchener where he donned a Kitchener Rangers jersey for a game of road hockey.
