More summer to come

Although it may not feel like it, especially the past couple days, it is still summer.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist, David Phillips, says Saturday’s high was 30 degrees followed by 15 degrees yesterday.
Phillips tells 570’s Gary Doyle Show that there is supposed to be a “free energy time,” usually around the end of September or October. It’s the time when you can turn your air conditioner off and leave your heating off, saving you some money.
He says he expects this month to get warmer and dryer than normal and that there is still some summer coming, but typically September is 4 or 5 degrees cooler than August.
He says that the best summer is occurring right now out West from Vancouver to Winnipeg. They’re getting 10 days at a time of sunshine when it’s normally the end of the growing season for them.
