The University Football season gets underway today.

The Wilfred Laurier Golden Hawks are on the road against the York Lions. The Guelph Gryphons are at home to the Ottawa Gee Gee’s.

While the Waterloo Warriors will play their first game after being suspended last year due to the steroid scandal.

Laurier Head Coach Gary Jeffries gives Waterloo a lot of credit after what they’ve been though. He says he respects everyone involved with the team and says from what he has seen, Waterloo is going to be better than some may think. Residents of Waterloo can catch a double-bill next Saturday.

The Warriors open up their home season at one oclock against the Gryphons, while the Golden Hawks will play in town at 7 oclock against McMaster.
