School is coming back, but one of the changes this year; is the menu.
A new policy that includes nutrition standards for food and beverages sold in Ontario elementary and high schools has taken place as of late last week.
Listeners had mixed points of view on 570’s Jeff Allan show. Some think there is little point in making these changes, because students can still bring their own junk-food and get fast-food from restaurants located near the schools. Other listeners commented that it’s a good idea, believing that healthy eating will promote higher learning potential.
Like it or not; the policy applies to food and beverages sold in cafeteria’s, vending machines, all events on school property and catered lunch programs.
