Environment Canada says a survey team has confirmed that an F1 tornado touched down Wednesday night in an area between Cambridge and Burlington.
The agency says the twister had peak winds between 120 and 170 km/h.
The track was found to begin near Little’s Corners and end near Westover. The worst of the damage was in Kirkwall.
Environment Canada says the damage track was about 15 kilometres long and up to 300 metres wide.
It found other sporadic tree damage in the area of the track, but that is believed to be from straight line winds.
