More Canadians are saving for the future.

have built up a nest egg, that’s a nine per cent increase from 2010.
96 per cent of us say we feel better when we have a safety net built up.
Scotiabank’s Senior Vice-President and Head of Canadian Retail Payments, Deposits and Lending, Mike Henry says we should have three to six months of
household expenses set aside in case of an emergency.
Henry adds people are getting back to the basics and it’s important to have a plan when it comes to saving money.
53 per cent of those surveyed are saving up for a trip followed by 43 per cent who say they are putting money away for a home.
Just over 40 per cent of people say they are close to paying off their debt.
