Cambridge councillors to discuss Limerick Road

Cambridge city council will decide what to do with Limerick Road tonight.
Approval of more than 700 homes has been on hold for month after residents voiced their concern about the construction of townhouses on tiny lots.
They have large lots and believe it’s just a developers way of ruining the land. They also mentioned having their street dead-ended so new residents wouldn’t take short cuts through there. The City rejected that idea.
Councillor Donna Reid plans on bringing forward a motion to meet the needs of those residents. She’s proposing putting in a temporary cul de sac where the last person is living. This will allow anyone that wants to later develop their land to do so.
Reid tells 570 News what she expects Council to give the go-ahead on the construction at tonight’s council meeting.
The Ministry of Environment has also insisted that a noise wall be constructed at the end of the road near the 401.
