Hollywood comes to Guelph

Downtown Guelph will serve as the backdrop for a remake of a science fiction movie that originally starred Arnold Schwarenegger.
Crews will be in the Royal City on August 21st, shooting scenes for Total Recall. The update stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel.
But don’t expect any star sightings.
The production company says none of the principal actors are expected to be in Guelph for the filming, which will involve mostly stunt players and background visuals.
The city was chosen because the old stone buildings in the core lend themselves to the vision required for some scenes in the movie.
The shoot is scheduled to take place at the intersection of Wyndham and Macdonell.
