Main named Deputy Chief

Cambridge Fire Chief Bill Chesney has announced Neil Main as the new Deputy Chief for the city.
Main has been a Cambridge firefighter since 1989, holding positions including Suppression Captain, Acting Platoon Chief and, most recently, Platoon Chief.
“There was a lot of competition for the position,” Chesney says in a release. “There was significant interest from candidates both internally and externally and we are happy to welcome Neil to the position. He has an exemplary record with the department and we are pleased to have him join the management team.”
Main becomes one of two Deputy Fire Chiefs in Cambridge and joins Doug Tennant, the current Deputy Fire Chief-Operations.
“I am pleased to take the reins as the next Deputy Fire Chief,” Main says. “It’s an honour serving the people of Cambridge and area.”
Main has called Cambridge home for much of his life and has served as a coach for Cambridge Minor Soccer and trainer for the minor hockey and lacrosse leagues.
