The Niagara-bound lanes had to be shut down for a short time again this morning at the Burlington Skyway as police scoured the area for evidence in the death of a woman early Saturday.
The OPP has confirmed the death is being treated as a homicide.
the woman was pronounced dead at hospital after being found lying on the highway at the base of the Skyway at about 6:30am Saturday.
The highway was closed for almost 8 hours yesterday forcing those heading to the Niagara area and the border crossings onto local roads in Burlington and Hamilton.
The victim’s name has not been released.
