VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks and forward Jannik Hansen have avoided their Friday NHL salary arbitration. The Canucks have signed Hansen to a $4.05-million, three-year deal. The new contract is a hefty raise over the $825,000 he made last season.
The 25-year-old Danish winger recorded a career-high 29 points during the 2020-11 season, playing all 82 regular season games for Vancouver. He would add nine points in the Canucks’ long playoff run to the Stanley Cup Final.
Hansen also led the Canucks in hits and was given the Fred J. Hume Award as the team’s “Unsung Hero.” Hansen, drafted by Vancouver in the ninth round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, enters his sixth season with the Canucks.
