Canada Post Back to Work

After a marathon 58-hour debate, weary members of Parliament didn’t hide their exuberance at finally getting to vote on the government’s back-to-work legislation to end the postal dispute.

Mail service should resume within days after M-Ps passed a back-to-work bill for locked-out Canada Post employees last night.

While New Democrats believe the legislation tramples the rights of postal workers, they ended their filibuster after another attempt to restart talks between the post office and its union failed.

The bill now goes to the Senate and could become law as early as tonight.
