Million dollar blaze

There is still no word on the cause of a fire that destroyed eight snow clearing trucks in Wellesley Township early this morning.

Township of Wellesley Fire Chief, Andrew Lillico, says the damage could climb to $1.6 million.

The blaze broke out just after 1 a.m. at the Steed and Evans Compound on Ament Line.

Lillico wouldn’t say whether the fire is considered suspicious. He says, “At this point in time we have contact the Fire Marshal’s office (to) request an investigator attend and work with us to accurately determine the cause of the fire.”

Lillico says firefighters from the St. Clements and Linwood fire stations were able to extinguish the fire effectively and there were no injuries.

570’s Tiffany Hendsbee spoke with Lillico at the scene…
