A deadly reminder as we head into summer…
A 14 year old North York boy has died after swimming in deep water beyond a roped off area.
The incident happened in a pond north east of Shakespeare. He was taken to Stratford Hospital before being transported to London.
Officials say Malcolm Gyfani got into trouble and went under the water. Other swimmers tried to keep him from going down but were unsuccessful.
The local fire department were called to the scene, pulled him from the water and attempted to revive him.
He later succumbed to his injuries.
