Massive drug seizure

After a four month investigation, Regional Police have charged three local men for drug offences, and taken $6.7 million dollars worth of pot off the streets.

Search warrants were executed last Thursday in Kitchener, Cambridge, and North Dumfries, with a follow-up warrant in Brantford-Blenheim Township the next day.

Police seized an alleged 6,114 marijuana plants, along with 277 pounds of packaged marijuana, and and 480 grams of marijuna resin.

Police also took ten long-guns, plus ammunition, and seven vehicles — even a paraglider.

40-year old George Gobran of Kitchener, 49-year old Kenneth Michael Meaney of Cambridge, and 48-year old Martin Kenneth Hackborn of North Dumfries Township were arrested without incident Thursday.

The Kitchener warrants were executed at two locations: a commercial building on Shoemaker Street, and at a residence on Knox Crescent in Kitchener.

In Cambridge, police searched two storage lockers on Industrial Road, and a residence on Pineview Crescent.

Items were also seized during a warrant at a barn and a residence on Sprague’s Road in North Dumfries Township, as well as a barn and residence in Blandford-Blenheim Township.
