465 M&M Meat Shops across Canada will be firing up the grills today for charity.

Its M&M’s 23rd annual Charity BBQ Day in support of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.

Last year, M&M passed the $20 million mark.

M&M Founder and Chairman, Mac Voisin tells 570 News the goal this year is to raise $1.6 million.

The BBQ runs from 10am until 4pm at all the locations.

Voisin says there are thousands of volunteers who help out and the BBQ is a big deal at all the M&M locations.

The event raises public awareness and money for crucial medical research for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
