May wants to end heckling

Now that she finally has her seat, Green Party Leader Elizabeth May hopes to single handedly end heckling in the House of Commons.
May was a guest on 570’s Gary Doyle Show today. She said she’ll simply sit down if she’s heckled even if it costs her a chance to speak.
May says, “…I’m determined to make a difference and make the place more respectful, more civil and create an opportunity for people to work together. I think it’s got to start by ending the heckling on the floor of Question Period.”
May adds that she’s, “…hoping the Canadian public will back me up on this.”
She says Canadians don’t usually get to see the behaviour of MPs during Question Period and that if they did, it might affect their opinion of their local MP.
