Are you ready?

Waterloo’s Fire Chief Lyle Quan wants you to be prepared in case of an Emergency.

May 1st is the start of Emergency Preparedness week.

In Celebration, the Waterloo Fire department has set up a Challenge to get you ready for an Emergency.

Quan says “While the need may never arise, famlies should be prepared to take care of themselves for three days.”

He advises that an emergency kit should be able to help you for 72 hours.

Individuals can take part in the challenge by visiting www.ontario.ca/beprepared and answering 5 age appropriate, multiple choice questions.

The challenge will last through the month of May.

During Emergency Preparedness Week there will be a display set up at city hall where you can fill out a ballot to win your own emergency kit.
