The Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a high water safety bulletin.
It says cool and wet conditions over the past week have led to more runoff to rivers and streams.
The GRCA expects higher than normal flows through the long weekend. It also says river banks are very slippery and the water is cold and fast moving. It’s reminding parents to keep children and pets away from banks.
The GRCA says Municipal Flood Co-ordinators are on standby to respond to situations as they develop.
Information on river flows and reservoir levels can be found on the GRCA’s website at www.grandriver.ca in the “River data” section.
