Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is warning once again about the dangers of what he calls a “reckless coalition,” if he doesn’t get a majority government.
This comes after Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff spoke with the CBC, saying he would try and form a government if the Conservatives come back with a minority and can’t survive a confidence vote in the House of Commons. He says he would work with other parties, even the Tories, but it would not be a coalition.
Harper is seizing on these comments. He says the plan from the opposition parties is now clear.
Harper has come out with a list of warnings about cooperative government. He claims it would ruin the economic recovery, raise taxes and open up a constitutional crisis.
He’s using Ignatieff’s comments to once again call for a majority government.
