Albert Ashley is a financial services advisor at the Waterloo Mennonite Credit Union and an active participant in the local community, with the Waterloo Region Cycling Committee, King Street Revitalization Committee, Waterloo’s Ambassador Committee and the Waterloo Meeting House church community. He lives in Kitchener with his wife and children. Both in his community and professional work he is involved with organizations that share his commitment to non-violence, social justice and sustainability.
Albert’s decision to represent the constituents of Kitchener-Conestoga in the House of Commons is based on his view that the government of Canada must be both fiscally responsible and ecologically sustainable, honouring both the planet and its inhabitants, which reflects the Green Party’s platform and philosophy.
After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Albert Ashley worked for Home Hardware Stores as Regional Marketing Manager before moving to P.I.B. Financial in Elmira. This lead to his eventual move to the Waterloo Mennonite Savings and Credit Union.
Albert currently sits on Waterloo’s Ambassador Committee, forging new relationships with citizens and cities of other countries. He has served on local committees for many years as well as working on projects supporting new Canadians, refugees and victims of HIV.
Albert looks forward to serving the citizens of Kitchener-Conestoga, embracing Green values and making socially responsible decisions for the riding and for Canada as a whole – now, for our children, and for generations to come.
Born to a large farming family in the Listowel area, Albert developed a strong work ethic and initiative after losing his father at a young age. He enjoys skiing, running and cycling and has coached youth soccer teams.
