Kitchener man claims he was scammed

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating, after a Kitchener man claimed was scammed out of $1,500.

James Wheatmark filled out an online application form for a loan of $7,500. He says he was told he had to give a down-payment of $1,500 and he wired the money, but didn’t receive his promised loan.

Wheatmark says he called the company back and the person he spoke to admitted it was a scam and he wouldn’t be getting his money back.

He wants other people to learn from his experience.
