Small plant fire

Officials are investigating following a small fire at Elmira’s Chemtura’s plant.
It broke out yesterday afternoon after hot oil dripped onto fibreglass insulation covering a pipe in the synthetic oil production building.
Officials say the fire was quickly put out, no one was hurt and there were no releases into the environment.
Chemtura’s plant manager, Jozef Olejarz credits the quick action of workers and the
Woolwich Fire Department with getting a handle on the situation quickly.
