1.3 million dollars will go to help the homeless in Waterloo Region.
The Homelessness Partnering Strategy funding will be distributed to local organizations over three years, beginning April 1st.
This is an ongoing strategy that has been renewed until March 31st, 2014.
Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, Diane Finley says the federal funding will help the Region find local solutions to local problems.
Funding will go towards many Regional organizations and programs, including the YWCA, Step Home Evaluation in Waterloo, the Homeless Individual and Family Information Organizations, The K-W Working Centre, Supportive Housing of Waterloo and the Cambridge Shelter.
