Smart phone viruses

Hackers are now targeting more than just computers. More and more viruses are emerging for smart phones.

Khoi Nyugen with Symantec says a lot of hackers are after your money with viruses that can steal your banking information or send texts and make calls. He says no platform is immune but the popularity of Android and iOS have made them the biggest targets.

Viruses aren’t the only risk. Nyugen says the biggest threat today is a lost or stolen phone which could potentially allow someone else to get a hold of your sensitive information.

Nyugen says there are a number of security app’s out there that protect your phone from viruses and allow you to lock or wipe it if it’s lost or stolen. When it comes to choosing the right one, Nyugen says you should go with a trusted brand and read the reviews by other users.
