WRPS promotions

Some senior officers within the Waterloo Regional Police Service are moving up the ranks.

The announcements were made Wednesday by Chief Matt Torigian.

Promoted to Superintendent: Inspector Barry Zehr, to be assigned to Commander – Community and Corporate Services; and Inspector Adrian Darmon, to be assigned to Commander – Central Division.

Promoted to Inspector: Staff Sergeant Kevin Thaler to be assigned to North Division; and Staff Sergeant Mark Bullock to be assigned to Support Services.

Senior Officer Re-assignments: Inspector David Gerencser, currently at North Division is re-assigned to Central Division and Inspector Douglas Sheppard, currently at Central Division is re-assigned to Community and Corporate Services.

The promotions and new assignments take effect next month.
