The Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch because of possibility of ice jams.
Peak flows are expected Friday night in the Conestogo River and the Upper Nith River.
The GRCA says the warm weather, along with a small amount of rain, has the potential to create spring type runoff conditions.
Officials say there is the potential for ice jam flooding to occur without warning in Grand Valley, Drayton, West Montrose, St. Jacobs, New Hamburg, Haysville, Plattsville, Wolverton, Brantford, Cayuga and Dunnville.
Water levels are expected to remain high throughout the weekend.
