Storm warning ends

It appears we have been spared the brunt of a winter storm that was expected to be the worst to hit Waterloo Region in a few years.
Environment Canada has now dropped a storm warning for the area.
Weather experts had predicted the region would get between 20 and 30 centimetres, but in Waterloo, city officials say only 9 centimetres fell.
Strong winds did create drifting in some areas and OPP reported zero visibility and dangerous conditions in some parts of southern Ontario.
People who are travelling by air today are being asked to call ahead, as there were hundreds of cancellations at Pearson Airport in Toronto – many of them due to the storm in the U.S.
At the Region of Waterloo International Airport, two flights scheduled to leave for Ottawa this morning have been cancelled and a third has been delayed.
The City of Kitchener has extended its snow event, which means anyone who parks on city streets today or tomorrow could be fined 80 dollars or their vehicle could be towed.
In Waterloo, residents are asked to leave their vehicles off the streets as much as possible today to allow for easier access for plows, salters and sanders.
In Cambridge, residents are also encouraged to avoid parking on the streets to better facilitate plow operations.
