Black history exhibit

Today kicks off Black History month, and there is a local effort to bring a permanent  black history exhibit to the Waterloo Region Museum.

The campaign started three years ago.

Clarence Mascoll is the Chairman of the United Caribbean Association of Cambridge.

He says they have received a lot of community support.

Mascoll says this area is rich in black history, with black people calling the area home since the 1830’s.

He says they are now looking for arts and crafts, artifacts and other items.

If you have something to donate, you can call (519) 650-1067.

Mascoll says they are about a year away from the exhibit being ready.
