The Kitchener Rangers got mashed on the ice last night.

But off the ice the 14th annual Don Cameron potato night was hugely successful.

Rangers fans donated 47-hundred pounds of potatoes and almost 64-hundred dollars in cash.

And this year for the first time local Zehrs stores pledged to match the potato donations pound for pound.

the donations support the house of friendship and its 18 food assistance programs.

The cash will help buy more than 42-thousand pounds of potatoes.
