Hamilton cop charged with fraud

A Hamilton police officer who lives in Cambridge has been charged with fraud and arson offences related to his personal vehicles.
Police allege Const. Hoang Pham falsely reported to Hamilton Police last September 30th that his personal vehicle had been stolen. It was recovered.
It’s also alleged that last October, Pham reported his personal vehicle stolen to police in Waterloo Region. It was recovered, with fire damage.
Police say both alleged thefts were reported to Pham’s insurance company.
He has been charged with arson for a fraudulent purpose, attempted fraud over $5,000, breach of trust and two counts of mischief.
The officer has been suspended from duty and is due in court March 10th.
