Turkey drive a success

Officials with the House of Friendship say a turkey drive that went viral helped them provide more than 10,000 people with Christmas dinners this year.
A new website and online donations are credited with boosting the results.
The drive, put on by the Rotary Club of Kitchener Conestoga, raised more than a quarter of a million dollars.
The final number was announced today during a luncheon at Bingemans in Kitchener.
Volunteers handed out 3,000 turkeys during the week before the holiday, through the House of Friendship’s Christmas Hamper program.
