A local MP is heading to Ethiopia today to determine what Canada can do to improve the health of women and children in a country that is rife with poverty.
Peter Braid will meet with Canadian government officials and members of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health.
He will also spend some time in a community northwest of the capital where World Vision provides families with health care and clean water.
“It will be an opportunity to understand how development assistance programs, particularly those that help to improve the health outcomes of mothers and children in developing countries, can be effectively delivered,” Braid says.
Upon his return, the Kitchener-Waterloo MP says he will share his observations and recommendations with his colleagues in Ottawa.
