RIM working on super phone

Waterloo-based Research In Motion has confirmed plans for a new product called the “super phone”.

Sascha Seagan, of PC Mag.com, spoke with RIM co-CEO, Mike Lazaridis at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

He tells 570 News, Lazaridis coined the term “super phone” to describe a device that will compete with the Apple i-Phone – a multi-media handheld that focuses on web browsing, video and gaming.

Seagan expects it will go on sale in the fall.
