Regions first babies of 2011

It was a happy new year for proud parents around the Waterloo Region.

This year’s title of ‘New year’s baby’ goes to Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Jenny Haylock who is one of the nurses at tells 570 news about baby Griffin he was born at 12:57 this morning and weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces.

At Grand River Hospital a few minutes later they welcomed little Carly to 2011.

Nurse Joey Dimartil says she was born at 1:21 and she weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces.

Baby Carly and her mother Marylin share the same birthday.
