Portraits of Honour

A painting at the Preston Kin Centre is paying tribute to Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan. The massive 10 by 50 foot “Portraits of Honour” mural depicts the faces of those soldiers.

Myles Kennedy’s son, Pte. Kevin Kennedy, died in a roadside bomb blast on Easter Sunday in 2007. He tells 570’s Jeff Allan, the mural is overwhelming, saying that each face reminds us of the cost of maintaining peace.

The mural is scheduled to begin a nation-wide tour on June 1st, 2011. Kennedy says it’s something every Canadian should see because unfortunately, more faces are being added.
