Much improved mortality rates

Grand River Hospital is the most improved hospital in Canada in 2009-10 mortality ratio report.
The report reflects the number of deaths observed in a hospital relative to what would be expected based on the average Canadian experience.
Hospital President and CEO, Malcom Maxwell says they are the most improved and one of the best in the country.
GRH’s ratio of actual deaths compared to expected deaths fell from 119 to 80.
He credits the improvements to the hundreds of small changes implemented by 14 different hospital teams.
The Canadian average is 100.
