The holiday hiring push is on in Waterloo Region.
Stacey Duggan is the Vice President of Prior Resource Group in Kitchener. The group provides staffing solutions for executive, professional, technology, administrative, industrial and skilled trades positions to corporations in the Kitchener area.
She says going into the holiday season they are seeing some key indicators the the economic climate is on the upswing.
For one thing, year-over-year, the number of temp jobs around the Region is up.
Duggan says another difference she is noticing this year, is that the jobs available are more long term. She says businesses are doing a bit better this year, and have more money to hire workers.
According to Duggan companies are being more specialized in their quest to find workers. They are looking for specific skills, a factor that may play into the longevity of the jobs out there.
