Kitchener’s annual winter overnight parking ban kicks in overnight.
Starting December 1, you will no longer be allowed to park on any city streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. until to March 31st.
The fine for disobeying is $30.
Also in effect is the “Tag and Tow” bylaw, which bans parking on city streets at any hour of the day if a “snow event” is declared.
That’s when the forecast calls for a snowfall of 8 centimetres or more.
The goal is to keep the roadways clear for snow removal equipment to get through.
The fine for that infraction is $80 and, as the title states, you could also have your vehicle towed.
