UPDATE – Fatal crash

Provincial police in Dufferin have identified the 60-year old Kitchener woman killed in a two-vehicle collision near Shelburne Saturday morning.

Connie Dietrich was killed in the head on crash on County Road 124 north of Shelburne.

Dietrich is the wife of prominent Kitchener businessman Paul Dietrich.

4 other women were injured in the crash, which 570 News has learned are members of the Dietrich family.

They are recovering in hospital.

OPP say the crash happened shortly after a southbound Ford Ranger pickup truck narrowly missed a northbound vehicle.

It then collided with a northbound Toyota Highlander, in which Dietrich was travelling.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 22-year old Mississauga man was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

OPP continue to investigate, but say roads were partially snow covered at the time and speed is believed to be a major contributing factor in the collision.
