Christmas is one month away and that means many of us are thinking about what to buy our loved ones.
But for some, thinking about it is all they’re doing at this point.
570 News spoke with a few people on the streets of Kitchener who say they don’t start shopping until the week before the holiday.
Others have specific dates at the beginning of December that they set aside to go out and check off their entire list.
Many shoppers also say they hate dealing with the crowds at the malls around Christmas and will try to finish their shopping early just to avoid it.
And because of the economy, some shoppers say they are trying to be frugal, taking more time to shop in order to get a better price for gifts.
A survey recently released by the marketing and research group, TNS Canada, found more people will sit on their wallets this year.
On average, respondents say they plan to spend $812, down from $866 dollars last year, and the lowest amount since 2005.
