A look ahead to winter weather

Winter is less than a month away and 570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson is out with his predictions for the season.

He says he’s expecting a colder, snowier than normal December. However, come mid-January we should start to see warmer than normal temperatures.

Wilson also says we have a La Nina condition in the Eastern Pacific, which means the water is cooler than normal. He says looking at past La Nina years, that puts us in the “battle zone” between a warmer than normal South Eastern U.S. and a colder than normal Central Canada.  He says La Nina will also help bring more lake effect snow.
