Fundraiser for teammate

Members of the Waterloo Wildfire ringette team are rallying behind a former teammate who is battling several brain tumours.

Erin Voss picked up the game while growing up in St. Marys and quickly climbed the sports’ ladder, eventually landing with the National Ringette League’s Wildfire.

With her illness, the Wildfire decided to do something to help her and her family out financially.

Team General Manager Gerry Kraemer tells 570 News they are staging a regular season fundraiser game in St. Marys tonight at the Pyramid Recreation Centre at 8 o’clock.

The Wildfire take on the Richmond Hill Lightning with admission being a donation of your choice.

There will also be a silent auction.

Tickets are available from all Wildfire players and bench staff or you can call 519-888-7205.
