Mail bomb would have detonated over Canada

The interception of a mail bomb in England last month may have averted an explosion over Canada.

Data suggests the bomb aboard a UPS flight pulled off the plane in England would have been in Canadian airspace when it detonated.

The jet would have been a few hundred kilometres northwest of Quebec City when the bomb was set to blow up.

British officials say the bomb also could have detonated over the U.S. east coast, depending on the plane’s exact flight path.
